About

I grew up just 20 minutes away in Henniker, and left the state at age 18 to pursue an affordable undergraduate degree from McGill University in Montreal, Quebec. After about five years in Canada, I returned home to New Hampshire and enrolled in AmeriCorps, serving at Rochester Middle School and later hired on as director of the 21st Century Community Learning Center after school program at RMS.

During the pandemic, I made a professional shift into the nonprofit world, taking on an events and communications role at Volunteer NH, which funds and supports AmeriCorps programs around the state and provides resources to other nonprofits to grow their volunteer programs. Today, I consider myself on a hiatus from that work, and I currently support myself on two waitressing jobs. I found that fast-paced, customer service-oriented work brings me joy and fulfillment.

I moved to Concord nearly four years ago after being priced out of Dover, a fast-growing city on the seacoast. I was lucky enough to find an affordable, charming apartment in a duplex on the edge of downtown and the South End, and since then I’ve enjoyed excellent quality of life. I rent with a roommate and my retired racing greyhound, who joins me in exploring our 80+ miles of trails or within our hundreds of acres of public parks. I enjoy riding my bike downtown to the library or a coffee shop, browsing our abundant farmers market on Saturdays, and some days my most difficult choice is which exciting restaurant within walking distance I should try out for dinner.

I consider myself so lucky to live here. I love getting to know my neighbors and chatting with them when I walk my dog around the block. I enjoy the camaraderie of likeminded, community-oriented people at the Unitarian church on Sundays. When I want entertainment, it’s not hard to find at our local bars, breweries, and venues. Concord really has it all, and it’s only getting better. I look forward to helping steward the growth of this city so even more people can enjoy it the way that I do.
